HOPE for the Future is an ambitious £1.3m project part-funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund which will safeguard the Museum’s nationally significant British insect collections, create new public spaces and create a programme of community outreach and education.

Three Collections Assistants are required to work with the Hope entomological collections currently stored in the Museum’s Westwood Room. The collection spans 150+ years of British entomology and will be rehoused and moved to safeguard it for the future by the project team.

The Assistants will work under the guidance of the project team leader to carry out the re-curation and collections move on time and to budget. The Museum is looking for postholders who have experience of working in a museum environment, specifically of working with, handling and cataloguing entomological collections or similar delicate museum objects. They should be able to demonstrate their ability to work as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.

Applicants are required to complete the online application form and include a CV and supporting statement addressing the selection criteria.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 2 September 2019. Interviews are expected to take place Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September.
