Communications Officer
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person with good IT and communication skills to help with:
- The day-to-day running of the Society and Museum; working alongside trustees, chairmen of sections, field leaders and other volunteers
- Dealing with enquiries face-to-face, by email and telephone, and via social media
- Ongoing development and maintenance of the BNSS website
- Publicity for BNSS events via programme leaflets, local press and social media
- Production of our quarterly newsletter
- Delivering the Society's strategic priorities
- Supporting BNSS fundraising initiatives
- Room hire administration; maintaining good relations with tenants and arranging supervision
- Liaising with schools, U3A and other visiting groups re access to facilities
- Building relationships with other organisations including Local Authorities, corporate contacts, conservation groups, and higher education institutes
- Developing a volunteer database and addressing training needs
