The Museum is seeking an exceptional online producer to coordinate the redevelopment of content for its new website, as part of a project encompassing a wholesale reworking of the website’s content management systems, information architecture, design and content.

The role will be within the Content Production department, a team of staff responsible for web production, editing, interpretation, and educational and live programming.

Drawing on the Museum’s Web Content Strategy and guidelines for tone, channels, formats, audiences and content commissioning and delivery, the Online Producer will coordinate the production and delivery of content, including images, copy, video and other multimedia, for the new Natural History Museum website and third-party platforms such as social media channels and partner networks.

Salary: up to £32,688

Contract: 15 month fixed-term contract
Role competences:
1. An undergraduate degree in journalism, digital media and/or equivalent qualifications or skills.

2. First-rate writing and editing skills with the ability to oversee the generation of online content to the highest standards.

3. Demonstrable experience of implementing digital content strategy.

4. A good understanding and experience of best practice in online content planning.

5. A good understanding and experience of best practice in online content production.

6. A good understanding and experience of best practice in online content delivery.

7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly working with a diverse stakeholder base that may have conflicting priorities.

8. Significant experience of managing a demanding and fast turnover of online content within a large organisation.

9. Excellent project management skills and a proven record for delivering against tight deadlines.

10. Excellent organisational skills and a positive and pro-active approach to work.
