Role description:
The Natural History Museum is recruiting a Project Manager who will work from the Museum’s Central Project Office on a range of temporary and capital projects. Projects range from new exhibitions, major refurbishment and capital projects, to commercial initiatives.

You will have experience of project management working with multi-disciplined stakeholders and taking an holistic approach in understanding the broader project environment, such as income generation, retail operations, promotion of the project and customer services.

The work will involve indoor and outdoor projects therefore knowledge of temporary structure builds, internal and external service infrastructures, site operational planning and working with statutory authorities is desirable.

Salary:£33,505 per annum plus benefits

Contract:12 month Fixed-Term Appointment

Role competences:
1. Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent
2. PRINCE 2 or other project management qualification or equivalent
3. Significant practical experience of managing projects from inception through to delivery with the ability to identify, resolve and make recommendations to rectify issues as they arise
4. Significant experience of providing a high quality of service to clients and stakeholders ensuring smooth delivery of the project
5. Significant experience of site management including overseeing, the co-ordination of construction, contractors and staff operations
6. Significant experience of performing project management duties such as producing reports, schedules, specifications and project/business planning documentation, especially their application within a large complex organisation or complex business environment
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels with the ability to influence and negotiate
8. The ability to clearly deliver and present project progress to different audiences including Senior Management
9. Strong awareness of the project budgets and the ability to monitor and control costs where possible
10. A professional but flexible and adaptable approach to managing change within the context of a museum environment
11. Demonstrable working experience of using software programmes including Excel, Word and MS Project or equivalent scheduling and programming systems
