About Kids City Science

The science department at Kids City consists of over 100 hands-on Science exhibits over 2 floors. All of the exhibits are of an international standard, having been designed in New Zealand or Europe.

The aim of science at Kids City is to teach science in a fun hands way. We cater to both School groups & individuals. We strongly believe that science education should be available to all, regardless of wealth so are developing partnerships with NGOs and government schools.

Kids City is based in central of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is an 11 floor indoor entertainment center, containing Cambodia's first ice-skating ring, climbing walls, go-carts and children soft-play areas in addition to 2 floors of Science.

The Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, followed by years of civil war, and under investment in education has severely damaged the Cambodian education system. Cambodia is a rapidly developing country, however progress is restricted by the lack of capacity, one of the aims of the project is to improve knowledge and interest in STEM subjects.

We are seeking a full time intern to help with developing our school program, assisting with school visits and special events. The intern could also help with our science book publication project.

This is a great opportunity for an individual wishing to gain experience in education, communication and community engagement.

The intern would be joining a friendly, enthusiastic team. Kids City has only been open just over for 1 year, this is a very new concept for Cambodia so it is rapidly evolving as a company.

Most staff are Cambodian, the Head of Science is British, having originally come to Cambodia 3 years ago for a (different) 6 month internship.
