This Research Scientist manages the electron microprobe (SX100) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) laboratories in Earth & Planetary Sciences Department, maintaining instruments and support equipment, budgeting and procuring supplies, and supervising and training users. The Research Scientist participates and collaborates in the EPS seminar program, science education, and research activities. The SX100 is a mission-critical instrument for all NSF and NASA research grants in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, and the FTIR is critical to several research projects. The Department provides unique opportunities for collaboration, public outreach, and research.

Required

Ph.D. in Earth Science with an active research program.

Preferred

Experience with electron beam instruments, well organized and comfortable interacting with instrument users.
