Summary
The Scientific Assistant, Paleontology will be responsible for the preparation of drawings, photographs and illustrations to assist curatorial research and advancement of the division's collections and research activities; this includes publications and talks; processing digital and other imaging data for illustration and research using commonly available software packages.
Will be responsible for working with museum students, postdoctoral fellows and other key staff on illustration and photographic techniques; other divisional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
A college degree (BS, BA, BFA) or commensurate experience is required.
Training in art and/or experience in scientific illustration is preferred.
Outstanding hand-eye coordination, computer skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Aperture, database/computer record-keeping and image file management, etc.), digital photography and imaging skills, and rendering skills are required.
