The project is designed to undertake a thorough taxonomic, stratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental reappraisal of the former British Petroleum Micropalaeontology Collection, with specific focus on the material associated with northwest Europe. The Post-doctoral Research Assistant will contribute to the successful completion of the project by undertaking analysis and research into multiple northwest European Mesozoic/Cenozoic well run and outcrop sequences, housed at the Natural History Museum, London. The role holder will be responsible for leading research into the analysis of foraminifera assemblages (both benthic and planktonic), which in turn will be used to update the existing interpretations of the well and outcrop material. Such information will then be used in order to provide palaeoenvironmental interpretations for the northwest European region in-line with the project scope.
