Role description:
The Conservation Centre leads, manages and delivers conservation work across the Museum and oversees quality control and standards in conservation for the 80million plus specimens in the collections. The successful applicant will work within the conservation team reporting directly to the Head of Conservation providing specialist support and advice for the documentation, preservation, care and display of natural history specimens.

If you wish to be considered for this role you will need to address each of the following competences in the ‘other information’ section of your online application:
1. Educated to Masters level (or equivalent qualification) in Conservation
2. Significant practical conservation experience, which should include some natural history material
3. Proven IT skills in museum specific database systems, such as KE EMu
4. Solid documentation skills and substantial experience in the production of specimen condition and treatment reports
5. Working knowledge and experience of Preventive Conservation in a museum setting.
6. Operational experience in producing bespoke support mounts and storage boxes for natural history Collections
7. Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines
