Curator, Ores
The successful applicant will join the Earth Sciences Department, part of a large science group that comprises a group of approximately 300 scientists, that houses some of the largest and most significant scientific collections in the world. This post sits within the Economic & Environmental Earth Sciences Division, a team of c. 17 researchers and curators.
The Curator, Ores is responsible for undertaking everyday curation, documentation, movements and preservation of the NHM ores collection liaising with curatorial staff responsible for the mineral and petrology collections and the ores research team. Curation support will include hosting visitors, processing loans, answering enquiries and registration of the backlog of new acquisitions. The post will feed into and contribute to long term collections management, research and collections development goals and is critical to delivery for the long term goals of the NHM.
This is a 12 month fixed term role.
