Embedded within the Invertebrates Division of the Department of Life Sciences, the Senior Curator of Non-Insect Invertebrates (Cnidaria, Mollusca or Porifera) will be responsible for the acquisition and curation of world class collections of Cnidaria, Mollusca or Porifera including both historical and recent acquisitions and for ensuring that they are used and made available for research, teaching, training, reference and exhibitions. An expert in their field of collections-based science, the post holder will demonstrate a high level of scientific scholarship in any of the above animal groups (e.g. taxonomy, systematics, organismal biology).

The Senior Curator of Non-Insect Invertebrates (Cnidaria, Mollusca or Porifera) will work with other curators and Senior Curators in Charge across the Invertebrates Division, and with the Principal Curator in Charge of Invertebrates to ensure best practice in collections care and strategic development of, and engagement with, the divisional collections as well as undertaking their own collections-focussed research.
