After visiting the recent natural history museum community conference in July: SPNCH 2014, Cardiff, Mark Carnall reflects on what the sector internationally is thinking and doing - in particular what’s happening digitally and what people’s thoughts are on a UK natural science database.
Thank you to all who joined us in Cardiff for our annual conference held jointly with GCG and SPNHC and our AGM. The conference saw lots of incredible talks as well as some exciting changes for NatSCA, including changes to our committee, a new memorandum of understanding and more!
Today we are officially launching our crowdsourcing project, Natural History Near You (#NHNearYou), to find every natural history collection in the UK & Ireland and discover what they hold and what state they're in. We want to help researchers of all kinds find collections that they can use to bring the collections and their hidden stories to life, and we need your help to do it!
